AFTER YOU’VE REGISTERED, WHAT’S NEXT??

Congratulations, you have become part of the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO).  America’s premier youth sports soccer organization.  In AYSO we have six basic philosophies:  Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Good Sportsmanship, Positive Coaching, and Player Development.  The following information will help you understand now that you have registered and become part of AYSO what to expect for the upcoming season.

1.    AYSO is a volunteer organization so we need your help.  All coaches selected are volunteers.  We need a coach, assistant coach,  and referee for every team.  We will provide coach training to all volunteers at no cost.    If we do not get enough volunteers who agree to coach we may not be able to accommodate all timely registered players, a lottery may have to be held  to choose as many children as can be accommodated based on the number of coaching volunteers.

2.    Coaches will receive their teams March 25th & 26th.  Coaches are asked to contact their players by April 1st to arrange team meetings.  Parents should make every effort to attend this important meeting. Coaches need to meet parents, discuss the AYSO philosophy, parent guidelines and arrange volunteers for various team duties.  Players who cannot be contacted risk losing their places to players on the waiting list. If you have not heard from your child’s coach by April 1st, call and leave a voicemail message at 208-528-8524.  Please do not call  before this date to determine the status of your child’s team.

3.    Refund Policy: There will be no refund of AYSO National annual fee after your child's registration has been submitted. There will be a $5 administrative fee deducted from all Region 102 season registration fee after your child’s registration has been submitted.  As of Team Distribution Day any refunds granted will be for one half of the Region 102 season registration fee until the first meeting or practice of the team. Once the team has met for a practice or team meeting, regardless of whether your child is able to attend that meeting or practice, there will be no refunds granted.

An “AYSO Region 102 Refund Request”, which is available from our web page must be completed and submitted in order to request a refund.

4.    Coaching clinics will be conducted March 25 & 26 at Taylors Vie Crossing and Community Park for new and returning coaches.  Clinics are required for all coaches whether new or returning.  Clinics will be held as follows: March 25th,U10 6-7:00p, U12 7-8:00p at Taylors View Crossing ; March 26th U5 & U6 6-7p, U8 7-8p at Community Park. Team uniforms and equipment will be handled out at completion of clinic.  Coaches bring water and running shoes.  This is training!

If you have volunteered to coach, make sure you know when your clinics are.  If you have not already registered to attend a clinic, please contact Shauna Kump (208-313-4385) or [email protected] to register.

5.    Referees are needed at all AYSO games.  Referee training is provided to all interested volunteers at no cost.  Refereeing clinic for referees will be conducted via online web courses.  If you have not already registered to attend a referee clinic, please contract Gary Schreiner (208-208-357-6256) or [email protected] to register.

6.    All players are required to wear shin guards at every practice and every game.  In addition, for player safety, players are not allowed to wear jewelry or casts at any AYSO practice or game.  Your coach will review other important safety rules at your team meeting.

7.    Team equipment and uniforms (shirt, shorts, and socks) will be distributed at the initial team meeting.

8.    Game schedules will be distributed by coaches and are available on the web site http://www.ifsoccer.org

9.       Games begin TBD, and most divisions will have their final game by/on TBD.
